Pedicure Procedure

  1. Check both feet for contra indications.
  2. Soak both feet for ten minutes in antiseptic foot soak in a clean foot bath.
  3. Remove one foot from the footbath and dry thoroughly.
  4. Remove any old nail polish.
  5. Cut or clip the nails straight across. Shape the nails by filing across towards the tip from each side. Do not create a curved shape. Do not take the sides too low, as this causes ingrowing.
  6. Apply cuticle massage cream
  7. Remove any hard skin with a callous file.
  8. Apply and massage in exfoliant.
  9. Place foot back in footbath, and wash off exfoliant.
  10. Repeat steps 3-8 on other foot.
  11. Remove foot one from footbath. Apply cuticle remover.
  12. Push cuticles back gently with a hoof stick.
  13. Remove dead, loose tissue from the nail plate with a wet cuticle knife.
  14. Dip a nail brush in water and remove cuticle remover.
  15. Wrap foot in a clean, dry towel.
  16. Repeat steps 10-15 on other foot.
  17. Massage both feet and legs with a foot cream.
  18. Wipe over nails with nail polish remover to remove any cream from nails.
  19. Use toe dividers if polish is requested.
  20. Buff nails to a high shine or polish.
